Legally Blonde JR. VIDEO AUDITION MATERIALS

If you are ARTE level 200/300 and would like to be considered for a principal role, it is recommended that you submit a video audition. This is not required, but greatly assists in giving us a clear idea of your capabilities as a performer and enhances your chance of being casted in a desired role. This is also a fantastic opportunity to see what auditioning with “self-tapes” looks like in the professional theatre world!

For Female Roles, choose one selection to sing from Omigod You Guys, So Much Better, Legally Blonde Remix, or a short sample of any song of your choice.

For Male Roles, choose one selection from What you Want, Chip on My Shoulder, or a short sample of any song of your choice.

Some tips to have the most successful video audition:

· State your name, audition piece, and the name of the show by which it appears in before beginning your vocal selection. This is called a slate.

· Please use backing tracks/accompaniment, no Acapella singing.

· Keep your upper torso as well as the top of your head in frame.

· Consider watching a Jr. or full production of Legally Blonde to understand the character singing and how the song fits into the show.

· Do not stress :) Have fun and show off your character and talent!

The following page includes measure numbers, links for both accompaniment and reference vocal tracks, and time stamps for each Legally Blonde Jr. song. Online copies of the music may be found on the registration site, and physical copies can be found at the theatre’s office. If you are auditioning with a non-show song, accompanying piano or karaoke tracks can usually be found on YouTube!
